The 10th Annual Quality Streetscapes Conference
Taking Risks, Reaping Rewards Finding the formula that unlocks quality, creativity and individuality in public spaces

Date Of Conference: 5/11/2023

This annual gathering for those concerned with designing, managing and maintaining public spaces celebrates its tenth year against a backdrop of great possibilities but some continuing constraints. With the growing recognition that developing a high quality public realm is key to constructing world class communities, this conference provides an essential opportunity for professionals and policy makers to come together and forge an effective delivery strategy for public spaces.

Sharing valuable lessons and discussing current issues is integral to the day. The programme has been developed to hear the latest thinking, generate debate and consider examples of best practice with the people involved.

This year's conference will continue to look at creativity and initiative in planning, design and delivery of streetscapes and public spaces and put the spotlight on overcoming remaining institutional barriers to success.

Speakers: Richard Simmons, Chief Executive, CABE; Hank Dittmar, Chief Executive, Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment; Professor George Hazel, Chairman, Urban Design Alliance (UDAL); Maggie Bolt, Director, Public Art South West; Colin Davis, Director, Colin Davis Associates; Ben Webster, Principal Urban Designer, Nottingham City Council; Marie Burns, Director, Burns & Nice Consultants; Tom McCabe, Assistant Executive Director, Regeneration, Liverpool City Council; Professor John Adams, University College London; Cllr Daniel Moylan, Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council & Cabinet Member for Planning Policy & Transportation; Joe Weiss, Strategic Transportation Director & Victor Callister, Street Scene Manager, City of London Corporation
