Demand Responsive Transport promises the opportunity to apply resources flexibly and efficiently, while offering a service tailored to customer needs. Technology is now making this vision a reality, through higher quality smaller vehicles, tracking and dispatch systems, and realtime passenger information. Meanwhile funds have been made available for new projects through the government’s urban and rural bus challenge funds.

A number of innovation projects have already demonstrated the potential for Demand Responsive Transport and this conference will share experience from these, looking at the latest results from the leading projects in the country, as well as exploring the wider implications for the future of public transport provision.
