Car Share
making more efficient use of private vehicles

Date Of Conference: 11/03/2023

Informal car sharing happens every day without much thought for the advantages it can have environmentally or socially, but this form of travel is increasingly being seen as a key element in achieving more sustainable transport behaviour in the more formal context of Travel Plans and car share initiatives set up by schools, local authorities, private and public employers all over the UK. The conference will provide a well informed debate on car share, starting with its history as an organised system, where car share is now, and the opportunities for the future. Discussions will focus on the barriers to setting up car share, operational issues, best practice in tackling social exclusioin, congestion reduction, environmental responsibility and how car sharing can be offered to groups of people locally, regionally and nationally.
