Designing-out crime Strategic and practical measures to reduce crime in the urban environment
Date Of Conference: 4/11/2023
It is an interesting and dynamic time for the creation of policy on reducing crime in both the urban environment, and rolling out effective measures on the ground locally. This conference will discuss the theory behind the science, illustrate current best practice and discuss the future direction of environmental planning and architecture in designing out crime initiatives at the community level. Crime reduction and community safety practitioners will show how policy is applied on the ground. Examples will show how crime can be designed out, while designing in safety and security and will illustrate how good design can improve the quality of life for everyone, reducing crime, and the fear of crime, and providing safer sustainable communities where people will want to live, work and play.
